Why are Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick ranked so highly in the ATP world tennis rankings?
The lad’s good but only won one major thus far, and im wondering how he’s so highly rated already, and why, on the other hand, Andy Roddick is still ranked above 50 let alone the top 5. Roddick hasnt made it past the quarters of a grand slam since before I was born.
James blake is definitely America’s number one, but is still 7-10 behind him.

Novak Djokovic does extremely well in Grand Slams (at least SF of all 4 majors) and Andy Roddick does very well in the next level of tournaments after the majors therefore they are ranked well inside the top 10. The reason why these two are ranked so well is because they are consistent in a lot of tournaments over a 12-month period. Given below are how they earn their ranking points from various tournaments:
