You are competitive, but keep in mind that UV expects all students to be! You don’t say what grade you are, so I’m assuming you are a junior, with one more summer to strengthen your profile.
Here are some tips:
You might want to consider volunteering with a non-profit, or in something that stretches your comfort zone.
Seize any opportunity to assume meaningful leadership roles. Because evidence of leadership is important.
Start working on your essays. Visit the website and see what the prompts were this year. Chances are they will be similar. You want to demonstrate that you are a curious learner so think about taking some kind of class, seminar, workshop, etc. this summer that isn’t offered at your high school. It doesn’t even have to be something academic. Just learn something this summer that you can’t learn at school.

Good Luck!
