Can I reenlist during deployment from National Guard to Active duty?
I will ETS on the 22 of Feb. I’m currently deployed right now and I would like know if I could transfer from guard title 10 status to Active Duty status when I ETS or would I have to wait until my unit demobs in the summer? I want to know so my wife and I can get a head start on housing.
you can reenlist now, HOWEVER you cannot leave your unit for an active duty one until you return from deployment.
keep in mind that switching to active you may lose rank, since there is a huge difference in levels of experience between active and ng.
edit: guard on welfare? name ONE proffesion that you can be competant at by doing it 2 days a month? AD isnt he guard on welfare…the guard is an incompetant and often out of regs version of AD that doesnt have the balls to be a soldier full time.
