tennis rules/regulations question. after serving, playing in a one on one game…?
after the first serve, does the ball have to be played in the front two squares? or can it be played all throughout.
The ball has to go in the service box (whether it’s on the first serve or second serve). If it doesn’t land in the box, then it’s a fault. If you miss it twice it’s a double fault and you loose a point.
After the ball is in play (after the serve is called good), then you can play the ball anywhere in the court as long as it doesn’t go out of bounds (past the baseline or the singles sidelines).
