Is a 12 year old female horse too old to break?
I just want to be able to ride her, not go around barrels or anything like that.
Here is a picture of her; http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr239/Volleyball_chick_2014/Decorated%20images/082-1.jpg
To Xxahsl: The reason why it said she was eleven is because I messed up when I was typing. That would be why I deleted that questions. Thanks for your concern.
No such thing as “too old to break”. It will be harder if she hasn’t been getting consistent ground work, but if you do a good deal of ground work with her before hopping into the saddle it will be fine. I know of retired broodmares in their 20′s who’ve been broken and made excellent children’s horses due to their sweet tempers.
